Staying safe
Most people here are exactly who they say they are. These are the habits that protect you from the ones who aren’t.
Before you meet
- Keep it in the app until you’re comfortable. Your number stays hidden here until you approve a request to share it.
- Video call first. A short call confirms the person matches the photographs.
- Search their name and photo. A reverse image search takes seconds and catches most stolen pictures.
When you meet
- Somewhere public, both times. A café or restaurant for the first meeting, and the second too.
- Tell someone. A friend should know where you are, who with, and when you expect to be back.
- Arrange your own travel. Don’t be dependent on someone you’ve just met for a way home.
- Watch your drink, and leave whenever you want to. You never owe anyone an explanation.
Money — the single biggest warning sign
Nobody genuine will ask you for money. Not for a medical emergency, a stuck parcel, a customs fee, a visa, a business opportunity, or a “guaranteed” investment or trading app. This is the most common scam on every dating platform in India, and it always starts with weeks of real-feeling conversation.
If money comes up in any form: stop, don’t send anything, and report the profile.
Other things worth noticing
- They want to move to WhatsApp or Telegram immediately, before any real conversation
- They avoid video calls, always with a reason
- Their story shifts, or their photos don’t match what they describe
- Intense affection very fast, before you’ve met
- Pressure — to meet somewhere private, to send photographs, to decide quickly
What we do
- Every photograph is reviewed by a person before it appears
- Blocking is instant and mutual — they cannot see you, message you, or find you again, and any conversation closes
- Reports are read by a person, not filed into a queue nobody opens
- Your number is never revealed without your explicit approval
- We limit unanswered messages so nobody can flood you before you’ve replied
- We never send messages on your behalf. Every message you receive was typed by a person who chose to send it
What we cannot do
We do not run background checks or criminal record checks. A verified badge means we reviewed a photograph — it is not a statement that someone is safe or honest. Please treat it that way.
If something goes wrong
Block and report from the profile or the conversation — two taps, and the report reaches a person. For anything urgent or criminal, contact the police on 112, or the National Cyber Crime portal at cybercrime.gov.in (helpline 1930). Women in distress can call 181.
